Truly it is a miracle that Hunda is finally sequencing and staying with me and reading front crosses and all that!  I think he does 6 tunnels in a row here!!!  And I think he is actually having fun?  If you listen closely you can hear the theme song..."do do do doooo".

mesa dedication

I am in shock and still crying as I write this.  My friends Amy and Jonathan lost their dog Mesa to a heart attack on the drive to Scottsdale.  I will never forget the first time I saw them run as a team.  It was my first agility trial ever, at some random park in Tucson and I could feel the energy from their run just standing outside the ring.  Mesa is to agility what dogs are to barking.  I am sad for the Hanridge family and the agility community, things without Mesa just won't be the same.  Please hug your dog.  And try to be the best team mate you can be, and run every run like it is your last, because you never know, it just might be.

Pick a lick had a lot of fun this weekend.  I think he looks sound.  He knocked that last bar because I was veering out of the way of the ring post.  Should have converged...duh.

Little Hundaloo was kinda bad yesterday and today.  Just when I thought we were getting somewhere.  He ran away and wouldn't let me catch him yesterday and today he stopped doing a down at class.  It was my fault though.  I tried to train too long doing the same thing (CAN'T do this with Hunda's) AND then when he gave up on doing the down it became a power struggle (DO NOT get into a power struggle with vallhunds, they are stubborn).  So we ended on a good note but it was only after I put him up to train another dog and gave him a break.  I am going to set my alarm for 15 minutes next time and stop BEFORE it goes off.  He just can't do the stuff all these dogs are doing: down stays for 5 - 6 minutes from 30 feet away.  BUT Hunda CAN climb up the light pole backwards...none of those GSD's and doberman's can do that, so hah!  Class was so bad that I was going to be good and have a tuna sandwhich and tea with Kathy at Camille's, but instead I had a beer and chocolate cake.  The mound was very happy.

Have some character development for my story: the familiy pet, named Pirata.  He/she is a hermaphrodite chihuahua with one eye.  Hence the name Pirata (pirate in spanish).  Who knows what adventures might befall an animal like that.  And I think I will give the main character an imaginary friend, even though he is still in high school.

Also, the main character lives in Nadaland, CA which I drove by today on my way to dog training and I googled it when I got home.  Check it out!

Get it?  A book titled no title, about nothing, where the main character lives in a place called nothing land.

I don't know why it amazes me that To Do atually weaved today!  I started training this right when I got back from Portland and believe it or not I used the channel weaves.

Also, you have to watch the 2nd Gates/Seinfeld commercial!  Ha ha ha!

i got my rock moves

Pokey rocks!  She was first place at NADAC championships with no faults!!  And another local staffy took 2nd!  Cool that two "non-agility" breeds took first and second!  I heart Pokey and so does Pickle, she will always be his first and only love!

Ha ha ha ha ha! I'm only three pages into this book and it rocks. If you grew up in the 80's/90's it is a MUST read!

Can't wait to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist this weekend!  Woot!

AND the new Killers single, Human becomes available for puchase manana on Amazon!  I HEART this song!  You can listen to it here.

Trying to decide what to write about for Nanowrimo.  Any ideas out there?  I wonder if I can write a novel about nothing?

Took Hundaloo to Petsmart to train today and he was pretty good.  Of course we never actually get inside the store but we get near the store!  Ha ha ha.

Una mas cosa...the market sucks but maybe not so bad?  My dad keeps trying to convince me of that.

Thanx for posting that video Becky! Here is part of the lyrics to "One last drink" by Enter the Haggs:

I've had a life that's full
Everyone's been good to me
So fire up that fiddle, boy
And give me one last drink
When the sun comes up
I will leave without a trace
But the world was mine today

Yuck. A soap opera. Just finished this and I still say it is a soap opera. Kind of makes me want to off myself. Just a little bit. These authors who write about life and make it seem so horrible!

Two quotes that I found interesting:

"Don't promise too much....Don't you know yet that the more we have we have, the more we'll want?"

And...

"And somehow, after days, or even weeks, of this, and everything hurting so much all the time, and not being able to bear it-who could bear shuch a thing?-you found yourself at three o'clock in the morning, though you couldn't have said what day it was, standing on the now graying white bathmat, in a torn T-shirt and your oldest sweats, cold, becuae your feet were bare, your sad little toes wriggling like grubs in the rug-it was almost funny; everything was almost funny, but the trouble was that nothing actually was funny anymore-and on the sink before you was a glass full almost to the brim of scotch."

Then the girl goes on to swallow some pills that she has been accumulating over time, chasing each pill with the scotch.

Super sad. And there is a kid that does the whole Chris McCandles/Everett Reuss disappearing act and his family thinks he is dead but he isn't. He just wanted out of life and that was his way of doing it without killing himself. I do not recommend this book to anyone, I will be giving my copy to people who don't have stuff.

How to make a flaming dr pepper

1. Fill a shot glass about 3/4 full with amaretto and top it off with enough 151 proof rum to be able to burn.

2. Place the shot glass in another glass and fill the outer glass with beer (right up to the level of the shot glass).

3. Ignite the amaretto/151 and let it burn for a while. Blow it out (or leave it burning if you're brave - not recommended) and slam it. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper.
