moose got explored by dora

I got to my cousins safe and sound. Took the back roads along the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Gotta say, CA is nothing like AZ. Too many things grow here for my liking. You can't see any geology. But I did see a few road cuts with amazing schist and banded gneiss. I also saw a lot of trees. Boring. But it was a cool drive and places to go back and visit are: Sonora and Placerville. I drove by the site of one of Mark Twain's cabins. I'm sitting here eating carmel corn that I found along my drive. Yum! Great midnight snack.
Poor Moose laid down to take a nap and Avery, my cousins 2 year old daughter, decorated him with Dora stickers. Ha ha ha. You can see how much he loves it. But he is really good with her, sits to be petted. Hunda met her also and was his normal exuberant self. Go Hunda Go!! I'm here until the weekend. We are going to see a movie tomorrow and to a baseball game on Friday. Then I'm off to the coast. My FAV! And Liz is waiting for me in Coos Bay and I know we are going to have a blast even if there are no salmon.
Hunda's CU stuff is going well. He is responding really well to the Give Me a Break game. Somtimes I let him win the toy and he still runs off but I'm hoping this will either turn into a game or extinguish itself. If I win the toy he immediatley offers his default behavior which is a sit and looking at me. I have FULL eye contact here! It is amazing and wonderful and he really likes it. He is starting to offer me that behavior for everything now, going in and out of doors, going to sniff, etc. You might think I'm a real dumb ass for coming up with this all of a sudden but I was using a hand touch as the gateway to Hunda's wants and it just got him more stirred up. So the sit with eye contact helps to center us and we can move forward from there. Don't laugh. You can never truly appreciate dog training and life until you have a Hundaloo!
