i got my rock moves

Pokey rocks!  She was first place at NADAC championships with no faults!!  And another local staffy took 2nd!  Cool that two "non-agility" breeds took first and second!  I heart Pokey and so does Pickle, she will always be his first and only love!

 Check out this book!

Ha ha ha ha ha! I'm only three pages into this book and it rocks. If you grew up in the 80's/90's it is a MUST read!

Can't wait to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist this weekend!  Woot!

AND the new Killers single, Human becomes available for puchase manana on Amazon!  I HEART this song!  You can listen to it here.

Trying to decide what to write about for Nanowrimo.  Any ideas out there?  I wonder if I can write a novel about nothing?

Took Hundaloo to Petsmart to train today and he was pretty good.  Of course we never actually get inside the store but we get near the store!  Ha ha ha.

Una mas cosa...the market sucks but maybe not so bad?  My dad keeps trying to convince me of that.

dogs and books and writing and...

Pokey is a killer cute dog.  Just adorable.

Been watching tons of dog-training-related shows on Animal Planet. Watched one about a woman in Palmdale (isn't that near you?) who raises Great Danes and trains dogs to perform in films.  And then another on Border Collies - astounding bits showing herding dogs and then some super fly ball.  Everything I see lately makes me wish I could go back about 30 years and have the time to really learn so many things, dog training included. (L has learned "spin", "go round", "give paw", crawlie-crawlie" and still thinks tunnels are God's gifts to dogs)

Nano....  wondering too.... think I am going to use some of the crap that happened in late '06 and '07 and twist things around into some sort of a story.  Might as well use the pain, right ?!!

pain

i don't like the pain so much.  it is hard for me to write about it because it is so real and it scares me a little bit.  someday i will share two of my sad and painful short stories with you.  they are so depressing and strange that i haven't let many people read them.  if i did let people read them i think they would have me committed to an insane asylum.  it makes me sad and astonished that there can be stuff inside me like that.  so have fun with writing about pain!  maybe it will help get it out.

This is a link to a good npr interview with the star of "playlist," that you wanna see this weekend!

Enjoy!

 Also,

so funny.  I just downloaded "Human" from itunes.  great song.

and of course you can write a novel about nothing.  the first one to ask that question, i think, was Virginia Woolf.  She writes about nothing more perfectly than anyone I can think of.  Mrs. Dolloway.  To the Lighthouse.  Even "Orlando" is sorta about nothing except time and gender and culture and everything.  Writing about nothing and everything at the same time is what it's all about.  Carol Shields' "Larry's Party" is totally about Larry's nothing life, too. You just got my mind going with that question, I guess cuz I've been asking the same question!

Ciao!  Wishy
